The objective of this study was to introduce a method for repairing large soft-tissue defects on the foot. Distally based neuro-fasciocutaneous flaps with perforating vessels were designed along the saphenous and sural neurovascular axes. The cutaneous perforating branches of the major arteries of the lower extremities were used as pedicles, which provided a rotation arc for the cross-leg flap to cover the large-sized soft-tissue defects on the foot. Radiation injury to arterial occlusion is a rare and late complication of radiotherapy. Numerous adverse reactions may occur secondary to radiation therapy. A well-known side effect is radiation-induced occlusive lesions and the enhancement of normally occurring atherosclerosis. We report a case of symptomatic right iliac and femoral artery occlusion after radiation therapy for carcinoma of the testis.

BACKGROUND: Individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) are at an increased risk of pressure ulcer development. Electrical stimulation of adjacent muscles may be underutilized as a tool for pressure ulcer healing in individuals with SCI.

SUMMARY: A 27-year-old man with C4 tetraplegia developed a left ischial pressure ulcer that for 23 months responded slowly and inconsistently to conventional treatment.
