Fracture-dislocation of the hip is an infrequent injury in adolescence. In combination with transepiphyseal separation of the capital femoral epiphysis, the injury is rare and catastrophic. BACKGROUND: Flexible intramedullary nailing (IMN) has become a popular technique for the management of unstable or open forearm fractures. Recent publications have suggested an increased incidence of delayed union and poor outcomes in older children and adolescents. The objective of this study was to review forearm fractures treated with IMN, comparing the rate of complications and outcomes between the 2 age groups.
