We have performed cytogenetic studies on five renal oncocytic neoplasms (three grade 2 tumors and two grade 1 tumors) identified histologically by light microscopy. One grade 1 tumor failed to produce mitotic cells. The other four tumors exhibited both normal and abnormal cell lines. Numerical abnormalities were found in both the single grade 1 and two of the grade 2 tumors whereas structural abnormalities were limited to grade 2 tumors. The authors report the clinical and biological findings of a case of a rare haematological malignant entity, morphologically characterised by a bizarre nuclear abnormality in granulocytes, consisting of exaggerated chromatin clumping and apparent fragmentation of the nucleus, with a loss of segmentation. They emphasize the coexistence of proliferative and dysplastic characteristics as a distinctive marker of this disorder and suggest it may represent a distinct rare morphological entity among the atypical chronic myeloid leukaemias, Ph1 and ber negative.

We reviewed 24 children who had symptomatic gliomas that involved the optic chiasm and were treated with definitive radiation therapy from 1971 to 1986. In eight patients (33%), histologic confirmation of low-grade astrocytoma was obtained. Patients had radiation therapy only if there was evidence of visual deterioration or other clinical or radiographic evidence of disease progression. OBJECTIVE: The possibility of metastasis to the cerebellopontine angle should be considered when a cancer patient has inner ear-related symptoms, although such metastasis is rare. Distinguishing between an independent tumor and a metastasis presents a challenge to the clinician once magnetic resonance imaging reveals a space-occupying lesion in the cerebellopontine angle. PURPOSE: Controversy exists over the appropriate preoperative evaluation of colorectal cancer patients. Most surgeons agree that basic laboratory studies are indicated. Between 1996 and 2020, 12,565 cases were enrolled in the German Registry of Pituitary Tumors including 10,084 PitNETs (10,067 adenomas and 19 carcinomas obtained surgically and 193 adenomas diagnosed at autopsy) as well as 69 spindle cell tumors of the neurohypophysis (64 surgical specimens and 5 autopsies). KRAS mutation status predicts response to anti-EGFR therapy in colorectal cancer patients. Here we report an interesting case of discordant KRAS mutation status in a patient with two separate tumour foci. Oral cavity reflects the health status of an individual. Many systemic diseases have signs and symptoms that manifest in the oral cavity, which in most of the cases precede the systemic manifestations. These array of diseases also include acute leukemias which present as gingival hyperplasia as the most consistent symptom seeking dental consultation that can be easily confused with many other benign conditions that present as gingival enlargements. One such rare case of adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia is presented in this article.
