A new technique of mictional cystourethrography has been developed. The examination is performed with the patient sitting on a radiolucent chair with the feet high on a footstool, in order to avoid the superimposition of the femoral heads in the lateral projection. The medial pubourethral ligament and the posterior pubourethral ligaments have the important task (for continence) of fixing the neck of the bladder. Duplication of the urinary bladder is rare and in most cases other abnormalities are present. Frequently duplication of the lower gastrointestinal tract and genital organs has been described. We are reporting on a 45 year old women with complete duplication of the lower urinary tract and duplication of various portions of the genital organs.

Thirty-six children have been treated for a non-hypospadiac urethral stricture. Of 12 patients with meatal or submeatal stenosis, 10 had undergone circumcision for balanitis xerotica obliterans. The strictures were successfully treated by meatoplasty or meatal dilatation. Twenty-four children had a more proximal urethral stricture: 16 were caused by urethral catheterisation, 4 were post-traumatic, 2 were congenital and 2 were idiopathic. Congenital anterior urethral diverticulum (CAUD) was diagnosed in 7 male subjects, of whom 3 cases were neonates, 3 cases were school aged and 1 case was adolescent. Varying degrees of urinary obstruction, often associated with urinary tract infection, were the main presenting symptoms. Reported in this paper is a rare urogenital malformation in a patient, 17 years of age. Extensive presurgical diagnosis of cele and cysts formation in the minor pelvis, with the right parts of vagina and ureter of a doubled urine-excreting system being involved, was confirmed by surgical therapy in two sessions. A review of 207 male children with poterior urethral valves revealed an over-all incidence of cryptorchidism of 12 per cent. This association of cryptorchidism in boys with posterior urethral valves has not been described previously.
