Arcanobacterium haemolyticum Chronic Osteomyelitis and Bacteremia Complicated by Intraosseous Abscess: A Case Report.

Arcanobacteriumhaemolyticum is an anaerobic, gram-positive bacillus most commonly associated with non-streptococcal pharyngitis. However, it is a rare cause of systemic infection and bacteremia. In this report, we present the case of a 39-year-old man diagnosed with A. haemolyticum bacteremia secondary to chronic osteomyelitis and an intraosseous abscess.

Bacteremia caused by Fusobacterium gonidiaformans in a puerperal patient. A case report an a literature review.

Fusobacterium gonidiaformans is an anaerobic Gram-negative bacillus rarely reported as a cause of human infection. We recently dealt with a woman with fever in whom this pathogen was isolated in pure culture in blood cultures in pure culture. We have also searched the literature for all cases of this disease.

Shell vial cell culture as a tool for Streptobacillus moniliformis "resuscitation".

Streptobacillus moniliformis is a fastidious growing Gram-negative bacillus responsible of rat-bite fever. We describe here the first report of this disease in la Réunion and the first isolation using shell vial cell culture from a blood culture bottle with a bacterium suspected to be dead.

Anthrax of the gastrointestinal tract and oropharynx: CT findings.

Anthrax is an acute infection caused by the Gram-positive organism Bacillus anthracis. It causes cutaneous, respiratory, and gastrointestinal (GI) infections in humans. We present the computed tomography findings of anthrax of the GI tract and oropharyngeal involvement which include inflammatory lesion in the oropharynx and GI hemorrhage.

Two intriguing Bilophila wadsworthia cases from Hungary.

Bilophila wadsworthia, an obligately anaerobic Gram-negative bacillus, was first isolated from appendicitis specimens and human faeces. The two cases described here are the first report of the isolation of B. wadsworthia in Hungary, and include the first isolation from chronic mastoiditis complicated with a brain abscess.

Bloodstream infection caused by Solobacteriummoorei: A case report and literature review.

Solobacterium moorei is an asporogenous, strictly anaerobic, short-to-long bacillus belonging to the family Erysipelotrichidae and phylum Firmicutes. This bacterium rarely causes bloodstream infections. Here, we report a case of the postoperative recurrence and metastasis of gastric antral adenocarcinoma combined with S. moorei bloodstream infection.

ENT infection caused by Raoultella ornithinolytica.

Raoultella ornithinolytica is an encapsulated gram-negative aerobic bacillus belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family. It is one of the three species of Raoultella. Human infections related to R. ornithinolytica are exceedingly rare. This case report describes an ENT infection caused by R. ornithinolytica successfully treated with antibiotic therapy.

Successful treatment of multiresistant Achromobacter xylosoxidans bacteremia in a child with acute myeloid leukemia.

Achromobacter xylosoxidans is an aerobic gram-negative bacillus and important cause of bacteremia in immunocompromised patients. We describe a leukemia pediatric patient with severe neutropenia who developed bacteremia with A xylosoxidans resistant to multiple antibiotics, and treated the patient with tigecycline and piperacillin-tazobactam in addition to supportive medications.

Influence of Dietary Probiotic and Alpha-Monolaurin on Performance, Egg Quality, Blood Constituents, and Egg Fatty Acids' Profile in Laying Hens.

This work was designed to evaluate the advantages of using multi-strain probiotics feed (Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus licheniformis and Clostridium butyricum) (PRO) and alpha-monolaurin (AML) on laying performance, criteria of egg quality, blood parameters, and yolk fatty acids' profile in laying hens. One hundred forty of Bovans brown laying hens at 45 weeks old (25th week of egg production) were randomly allocated into four groups, with seven replicates of five birds each in a complete randomized design. The first group was fed a basal diet without feed additives (0 g/kg diet), and the second…
