PURPOSE: To demonstrate a novel technique for the management of dangling lenses with near complete zonular dehiscence.
METHODS: A capsule-sparing combined anterior and posterior surgical approach for dangling lenses with severe zonular dehiscence is described. The surgical record of a patient who underwent phacoemulsification with "dangling lens technique" and in-the-bag intraocular lens (IOL) implantation was evaluated.

CASE REPORT: We present a case of plateau iris and glaucoma due to multiple unilateral iridociliary cysts. The patient was treated with iridotomy Nd: YAG laser and 360° iridoplasty, without achieving pressure control. Phacoemulsification improved the hypertension. Dynamic gonioscopy and OCT of the anterior chamber was also performed before and after treatment.
DISCUSSION: Iridociliary cysts are a benign condition that can cause iris plateau configuration, and can produce a difficult to treat ocular hypertension. Cystotomy, peripheral iridoplasty, and other treatments have been proposed.

Primary iridociliary cysts can induce plateau iris configuration and angle closure glaucoma. We report a patient with bilateral, primary, ring-shaped, solitary iridociliary cysts. The right eye displayed normal intraocular pressure, oppositional iridocorneal angle closure, and healthy optic nerve head. The left eye had advanced chronic angle closure glaucoma. The management strategy varied between eyes and is discussed. This, to the best of our knowledge, is the first report of transscleral Diode laser application in an eye with a large iridociliary cyst.

The protocols described in this unit provide detailed information on how to isolate and expand, in culture, ciliary epithelial cells (CECs), previously identified as retinal stem cells, from the adult mouse eye, and embryonic retinal progenitor cells (RPCs) from the developing retina. CECs are initially cultured in floating conditions as neurospheres and then expanded in monolayer cultures. RPCs are cultured in floating conditions. Detailed protocols for retinal differentiation, as well as exogenous gene expression using lentivirus are also described.

PURPOSE: To report a clinical case of optic nerve compression by supraclinoidal internal carotid artery associated with optociliary shunt vessels.
METHODS: A 78-year-old woman with the clinical triad of left visual loss, ipsilateral optic disc pallor, and retinochoroidal (optociliary) shunt vessels is reported. She complained of loss of vision in the left eye of 2 years'' duration.
RESULTS: A diffuse depression of the visual field was found in the affected eye. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed left optic nerve compression by the supraclinoidal internal carotid artery.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation (ECP) in the management of refractory glaucoma.
METHODS: ECP procedures were performed on fifty-one eyes of 47 patients with refractory glaucoma by using the Microprobe (Endo Optiks, URAM E2) integrated laser endoscope system. AIMS: To analyse the results of intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction in refractory glaucoma following diode laser cyclophotocoagulation with a repeatable standard protocol.
