We report a patient with centroblastic non-Hodgkin's MALT lymphoma of the stomach treated initially with surgery and post-operative chemotherapy and radiotherapy. First relapse was treated with high-dose BEAM chemotherapy and autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT). Second, systemic relapse was treated with high-dose BU/CY and second PBSCT. Today, the patient is in complete remission at 27+ months. BACKGROUND: The natural history of patients experiencing hemodynamic compromise with rejection has been incompletely characterized. This multiinstitutional study examined the outcome of such episodes, particularly with regard to the extent of cellular infiltrate on the index endomyocardial biopsy.
METHODS: From January 1, 1990, through June 30, 1994, 3367 patients in the Cardiac Transplant Research Database experienced 4137 episodes of rejection. Severe hemodynamic compromise occurred in approximately 5% of the rejection episodes, and this proportion remained relatively constant over time.

Cutaneous cryptococcosis is an uncommon manifestation of disseminated cryptococcal disease. We report a liver transplant recipient presenting with onset over 3 days of progressive pain and swelling of the lower extremity and foot with erythema and heat. Cryptococcal cellulitis was documented, but in retrospect the clinical presentation was indistinguishable in presentation and appearance from acute bacterial cellulitis. The patient also proved to have concomitant cryptococcal septic arthritis; the presence of cryptococcal antigen in the synovial fluid allowed a rapid and definitive diagnosis.

Few studies analyzed the impact of bone marrow (BM) or peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) on outcomes after haploidentical transplantation using post-cyclophosphamide (Haplo-PTCY). We analyzed 8854 adults with malignant disorders, given a first Haplo-PTCY. BM cells was used in 2914 and PBSC in 5940 patients.
