BACKGROUND: Retroclival hematoma (RCH) is a rare occurrence. The hemorrhage is usually small and hidden and can be easily missed on CT scan. Here, we report the association of a RCH with an odontoid fracture.

BACKGROUND: Arteriovesical fistulas are extremely rare. Only eleven cases were previously reported in the literature. They can occur iatrogenically, traumatically or spontaneously.
CASE PRESENTATION: We report an unusual case of a 62-year-old woman with arteriovesical fistula that developed fatal hematuria after transurethral electrocoagulation. Computed tomography (CT) and selective angiography revealed a pseudoaneurysm of the right superior vesical artery with arteriovesical fistula formation, which was managed by transarterial embolization.

Systemic karyomegaly is a distinct disorder characterized by progressive renal failure and enlarged, bizarre renal tubular epithelial cells. Autopsy cases of cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP) have been rarely reported. A 73-year-old Japanese man consulted to a hospital because of flu-like sickness. He was diagnosed as pneumonia, and treated by antibiotics. He was referred to our hospital for further treatment. Chest X-P showed pneumonia involving the whole lungs. Wegener's granulomatosis is a systemic vasculitis of unknown aetiology. Although it classically involves the upper respiratory tract, lungs and kidneys, virtually any organ may be affected. We report a rare case of a 45 year old female who presented with bilateral-dacroadenitis, otitis media, parotid enlargement and left sided lower motor neuron type of facial palsy as the initial manifestations of Wegener's granulomatosis.

Salivary calculus is the most common cause for obstructive sialadenitis of submandibular gland. Foreign body causing obstructive sialadenitis is rare due to the anatomical and physiological factors preventing it from migrating into the duct. Our case report aims to highlight an unusual presentation of foreign body in the submandibular duct with the background of calculus formation and it's missed diagnosis in the usual radiological investigations like CT. Sialendoscopic retrieval revealed finger nail as the foreign body nidus with calculus deposits at one end of the nail.
