We report on two patients with advanced Kienböck's disease (Lichtman IIIa and IIIb) who underwent surgical treatment in which the lunate was replaced by a pyrocarbon implant. At a mean follow-up of 3 years, the average VAS pain score was 1 and the average DASH was 11.5.
