This article discusses hemifacial microsomia and Treacher Collins syndrome relative to the nature of these congenital deformities as well as the clinical, radiographic, and diagnostic characteristics. These patients often have severe facial deformities with hypoplasia or aplasia of the temporomandibular joints (TMJs) and mandible. The surgical treatment options are presented, including the advantages and disadvantages of autogenous tissues versus patient-fitted total joint prostheses to reconstruct the TMJs and mandible as well as counterclockwise rotation of the maxillomandibular complex.

We present a rare case of a two-week-old infant with tetralogy of Fallot , absent pulmonary valve syndrome , right aortic arch, and disconnected left pulmonary artery (LPA) whose origin was from ductal ligament adjacent to the left subclavian artery. One-stage surgical correction, including closure of ventricular septal defect (VSD), LPA reconstruction and reconnection to the pulmonary trunk, reduction in size of the right pulmonary artery (RPA), and right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction with valved conduit, was successfully performed with good clinical mid-term outcome.

BACKGROUND: Tricuspid valve detachment (TVD) may improve the access for closing certain ventricular septal defects (VSDs), but it has some potential risks. We aimed to study the benefits and drawbacks of this technique.
