The aim of this study was to estimate the usefulness of imaging modalities for diagnosing level VI lymph node metastasis in patients with laryngohypopharyngeal cancer. A retrospective review of 138 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx or hypopharynx who underwent central compartment neck dissection (CCND) was performed. Level VI metastasis occurred in 29 of 138 (21 %) patients. CT accuracy and sensitivity for level VI lymph node was 85.5 and 48.3 %, respectively. INTRODUCTION: Proximal urethrovaginal fistula (UVF) located close to the bladder neck may cause extensive sphincter damage and is usually associated with continuous incontinence, which may mask the associated stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Simultaneous correction of SUI avoids a second surgery for SUI, which needs dissection in ischemic fields and carries a high risk of failure. The aim of this study is to describe our technique of concomitant repair of SUI with proximal UVF and our results.

We report an extremely rare case of branchial cleft-like cysts in Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The patient was a 77-year-old man with a growing mass in the anterior neck. Ultrasonography and computed tomography revealed a cystic lesion with septum in the left thyroid and multiple small cystic lesions in the right thyroid. BACKGROUND: Vertebral artery (VA) dissection (VAD) has been described following neck injury and can be associated with stroke, but the causal association with cervical spine manipulation therapy (cSMT) is controversial. The standard treatment for VAD is antithrombotic medical therapy. Dedifferentiation is defined as high-grade malignant tumor development out of a low-grade malignant tumor. We present an adenocarcinoma tumor of the parotid gland that was dedifferentiated from a low-grade epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma and was followed up for 3 years. This contribution describes a minimally-invasive approach to subtotal oesophagectomy. Indications, pre-emptive ischaemic conditioning and feeding jejunostomy are discussed. Salvage surgery is the sole curative-intent treatment option for patients with esophageal cancer after definitive chemoradiotherapy.
