We present the case of a 36-year-old male who sustained a straddle injury with classic signs of a urethral injury. He had blood at the meatus, a high-riding prostate, a butterfly hematoma, and he was unable to void. A retrograde urethrogram confirmed a bulbar urethral injury. Urethral coitus is a rarely reported cause of female urinary incontinence and has been most commonly described in women with vaginal and hymenal anomalies. Herein, we report a 41-year-old woman with a complex obstetric history, who presented with continuous urinary incontinence. On evaluation, she was found to have an abnormally dilated urethral orifice and vaginal stenosis suggestive of chronic urethral coitus. PURPOSE: Female urethral stricture (FUS) is an infrequent entity, but may cause significant morbidity. Despite a rising interest in recent years, there is still scarce published information. In this article, we review FUS with a special attention to the use of dorsal buccal mucosa grafts (DBMG).

Pelvic fracture urethral injuries (PFUI) are devastating lesions that lead to fibrosis and urethral disruption, which result in recurrent strictures, urinary incontinence, fistulae, and even erectile dysfunction, representing a management problem for the urologist. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be a valuable tool in establishing or confirming the diagnosis by providing detailed anatomy and estimating disease extent. We present a comprehensive review of the current literature on the role of MRI on diagnostic evaluation and surgical management of patients with PFUI.
