Choroidal malign melanoma showing rapid progression in a boy 17 years old is presented. The patient was under therapy with methoxy psoralen + Ultraviolet A (PUVA)* for psoriasis vulgaris. He had undergone complete ophthalmologic examinations with three-month intervals from the beginning of this therapy. The tumor was detected in the seventh month, rapidly enlarging within the next twenty days, and eventually leading to enucleation. PUVA is known to be a risk factor for cutaneous malign melanoma. However, there is no reported incidence of choroidal malign melanoma in PUVA treated patients. To o

A benign papilloma of the choroid plexus of the left lateral ventricle is found in a five-month old infant. An important dilatation of the isolated occipital horn is observed, without generalized enlargement of the ventricles. The clinical signs are limited to a moderate macrocephaly with deviation of head and eyes to the left. The absence of global hydrocephalus is rather exceptional in such cases, where overproduction of cerebrospinal fluid, in an amount proportional to the tumoral mass, is generally admitted. Nevertheless, the literature offers no absolute proof of the role of oversecretion

Mucus-secreting adenomas of the choroid plexus are very rare. We report the case of a 72-year-old woman who was first seen because of difficulty in walking. Her CT scan showed a lesion compatible with the appearance of a cystic mass in the fourth ventricle. A posterior fossa exploration was performed and an acinar choroid plexus adenoma of the fourth ventricle was removed.

The case of a 17 years-old woman, with clinical findings of meningites, without identification of a pathogenic agent is reported. The pacient received treatment for tuberculous and fungi meningitis. In the clinical course were found neoplastic cells in the spinal fluid. Despite the radiologic investigation, the original site of the tumor was not found in life. In the post-mortem examination, a small tumor was discovered in the 4th ventricle. The hystologic examination revealed a primary central nervous system lymphoma, diffuse infiltration of the meninges by tumor cells and proliferation into

The case of a three-years-old male with intracranial hypertension is reported. Without a clear clinical diagnosis, a gradual deterioration ocurred before his death, 8 days later. The neuropathological examination of the brain revealed a tumor with indistint borders at the right lateral ventricle, with granulous surface, pink-gray colour, irregular necrotic and hemorragic areas, invading the adjacent brain tissue. The histopathological study revealed a malignant variant of the choroid plexus tumor, of extreme rarity in the central nervous system. The biological and histological criteria accepte

Objective: To describe and compare the internal vascular features of choroidal melanoma (CM) and choroidal nevus on optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). Methods: This cross-sectional study included patients clinically diagnosed with CM or choroidal nevus at Beijing Tongren Hospital between July 2019 and March 2025. Tumor-centered OCTA images were acquired, and the intrinsic tumor vasculature was reconstructed on two en face planes, the choriocapillaris slab and the full-thickness choroid slab. The malignant transformation risk of choroidal nevus was assessed using the multimodal im

UNLABELLED: Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) is an informative method for identifying and evaluating the vascular network of small choroidal melanomas (CM). It is also valuable for monitoring tumor regression and vascular changes after radiation therapy. However, there is only a limited number of studies specifically focused on treated CM.
PURPOSE: This study aimed to determine OCT-A signs associated with different outcomes of eye-preserving treatment.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: OCT-A was performed in 12 patients (12 eyes) after eye-preserving treatment for CM. At the time of exam

PURPOSE: To describe a patient with a choroidal osteoma treated with photodynamic therapy to prevent tumor growth in whom choroidal neovascularization (CNV) developed after being treated with photodynamic therapy.
METHODS: Case report.
RESULTS: A 5-year-old Hispanic woman presented with an asymptomatic choroidal osteoma, temporal to the macula of her right eye. According to the patient's mother, her medical, surgical, and family history was unremarkable. At examination, best-corrected visual acuity was 20/30 in both eyes. After 11 months of follow-up, signs of tumor growth toward the fovea w

PURPOSE: To report a case of quiescent choroidal neovascularization (CNV) associated with choroidal nevus using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) during 5 years follow-up.
METHODS: Observational case report.
RESULTS: A 53-year old woman was referred our department with diagnosis of choroidal nevus. At 1 year follow-up, fundus autofluorescence revealed hyper/hypoautofluorescent area, infrared image showed hyperreflective area and enhanced depth imaging OCT presented a shallow pigment epithelium detachment without exudation or hemorrhage. Fluorescein angiography and indocyanine g

PURPOSE: To report a case showing a very rare association of chorioretinal coloboma and retinal capillary hemangioma in a previously healthy patient.
METHODS: Observational case report.
RESULTS: A 21-year-old woman presented at our clinic for vision screening. She had a history of bilateral chorioretinal coloboma with amblyopia in her left eye. Her best-corrected visual acuity was 20/25 in her right eye and 20/200 in her left eye. On slit-lamp examination, iris coloboma was observed in the left eye. Fundus evaluation showed inferior chorioretinal coloboma in both eyes, and an elevated, round

BACKGROUND: Choroid plexus papillomas are typically considered benign lesions, but histology is not always predictive of their behavior. These tumors can metastasize anywhere along the neuraxis and may be intraventricular, subarachnoid, or intraparenchymal. We present 2 cases that illustrate the wide diversity with which choroid plexus papillomas can disseminate.
CASE DESCRIPTIONS: The patient described in case 1 had a primary fourth ventricular choroid plexus papilloma that produced diffuse cystic subarachnoid and leptomeningeal lesions. Patient 2 also had a primary fourth ventricular tumor

PURPOSE: To report a case of choroidal metastases from breast carcinoma occurring after a remission period of 34 years.
METHODS: Case report and literature review.
RESULTS: A 77-year-old woman who presented with blurry vision was found to have choroidal metastatic lesions in both her eyes. She had a remote history of breast cancer (status post mastectomy) 34 years ago. A metastatic workup was performed that revealed the presence of widespread metastatic lesions in the lungs, liver, and bones.
CONCLUSION: Although the median time period for the detection of choroidal metastases is 3 years af
