A 50-year-old male was referred to our department because of dysuria. On cystoscopy, a submucosal bladder tumor was seen at the posterior wall of the urinary bladder. We report a case of uterovesical fistula that had been diagnosed by cystoscopy, vaginoscopy and ultrasonography. Fistulorrhaphy via the transperitoneal transvesical approach resolved the passage of urine to the vagina. The decision to perform a conservative or more aggressive approach is determined by the site of the fistula.

We report a case of urinary retention in a women caused by a leiomyoma of the bladder. The intramural form often causes obstruction, as it is usually located near the bladder base. Treatment is surgical, and the prognosis is excellent. Therefore, cystoscopy is recommended in women with urinary retention.

Congenital anterior urethral diverticulum is an uncommon condition that tends to present in older children with signs of chronic urinary problems. A neonate presented following recurrent collapse, and cystography revealed a giant urethral diverticulum. The diverticulum was incised at cystoscopy, leading to a full recovery.

Catheterization of a grossly edematous uncircumcised penis can be challenging if the prepuce cannot be retracted. Herein is described a technique in which an anoscope is used to visualize the meatus and facilitate placement of a Foley catheter. This simple technique can obviate the need for cystoscopy or suprapubic cystotomy.

Possible complications during colposuspension for urinary stress incontinence are inadvertent injury to the bladder or ureters. Surprisingly, endoscopic control during the procedure was never described. We suggest the routine use of cystoscopy during colposuspension for the early diagnosis of complications and immediate repair.
