Prominent sinusoidal dilatation of the liver, spleen, and adrenals has been observed in nude mice with transplanted human renal cell carcinoma (RCC). To confirm whether this is a paraneoplastic manifestations specific for patients with RCC, 145 human autopsy specimens of RCC, transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) and cerebral hemorrhage (CH) were studied histologically. A rare case of wide urethra in a female infant mimicking as a urethral diverticulum in association with ectopic ureterocele is reported. The ureterocele terminated just below the bladder neck, but the diverticulum-like structure everted from the wide urethra, protruding towards the ureterocele. Weakness of the urethral wall, distal to the actual ureterocele may produce such an abnormal radiologic finding. The pertinent literature is reviewed.

An extra- and intra-hepatic bile duct dilatation has been observed in a child in the course of scarlet fever. Manifestations of cholestasis, cytolysis and inflammation were present. Pruritus disappeared within 2 months, biological abnormalities within 3 months and ultrasonic bile duct abnormalities between 3 and 6 months, with a follow-up of 9 months. This case report suggests a relationship between a transitory obstruction, possibly toxic in origin, of the bile ducts and the scarlet fever.

A case of periductal mastitis and mammary duct ectasia is presented in a 50 year old male, with presenting symptoms similar to those of females, namely subareolar breast lump and mastalgia. As far as can be ascertained only 4 cases of mammary duct ectasia and periductal mastitis in males have been reported previously. Since this entity is not well known in males it is possible that it may be underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed clinically and histologically.

Over an 11-year period in one surgeon's practice, mammary duct ectasia constituted 5.5 per cent of all breast diseases treated by operation. A total of 78 patients undergoing major duct excision for mammary duct ectasia has been studied to determine the success of the standard operative treatment. Systematic lymphographic studies in 13 cases of infection with Onchocerca volvulus have enabled a "lymphographic diagram" to be made for each infected patient. The images obtained are similar to those observed in wuchereriasis. The microfilariae in onchocerciasis, however, are not transmitted in the lymphatic system, and the lesions, which vary according to the degree of infestation, show little progression. They are found mainly in the inguino-crural ganglia which are the first main ganglionic relay system for the lower limbs.

Our experience with five cases of cystic dilatation of the extrahepatic bile ducts is reported and compared with the literature. The following conclusions have been reached: (1) The etiology of this anomaly is primarily congenital but may involve an acquired component.
