Favorable Eruption Despite External Replacement Root Resorption in Delayed Replantation of Avulsed Teeth Treated With Regenerative Endodontics-An Observational Study.

AIM: To assess the eruption patterns and progression of external replacement root resorption of eight teeth that were avulsed and had delayed replantation treated by regenerative endodontic treatment (RET). METHODOLOGY: In total, 102 traumatised anterior teeth were treated with regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) between December 2016 and December 2023. Of the 17 teeth that had avulsed, 8 that had been replanted after at least 30 min subsequently developed external inflammatory root resorption (EIRR). Patient ages ranged between 8 and 11 years. The RET followed the IADT 2020 guidelines an

The accuracy of using guided endodontics in access cavity preparation and the temperature changes of root surface: An in vitro study.

BACKGROUND: Guided endodontics is a successful technique that has been gradually applied to endodontic therapy in recent years without being affected by the operator's experience. However, the guided bur produces excessive heat during continuous rotation and friction with root canal walls, it is not clear whether the degree of temperature increase may lead to the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone damage. METHODS: A total of 58 teeth were used, of which 40 teeth were not grouped, all used to evaluate the accuracy. 40 single-rooted premolars were scanned using CBCT and an intra-oral scanne…

Endodontic and Orthodontic Management of a Fused Mandibular Incisor and Supernumerary: A Case Report.

Dental fusion is a rare anomaly that can present unique challenges with clinical treatment. This report outlines a case of an 11-year-old who presented with fusion of a mandibular lateral incisor with a supernumerary. At presentation, the teeth were fully mature and normally responsive to pulp sensibility testing. Assessment with CBCT confirmed that the majority of the root canal system and pulp chambers were separate, with a single point of communication between both tooth units in the mid-crown. Removal of one of the teeth was requested to facilitate the patient's orthodontic treatment plan,

Neurobiological Links Between Endodontic Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders: A Comprehensive Review.

Endodontic (pulpal and periapical) pain and temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are often considered to be clinical entities in different dental subspecialties. Both are present in the same sensory system (the trigeminal nerve and its central projections); however, there is recent evidence to suggest that some common neurobiological substrates exist between the two. Mechanistic connections between the inflamed/instrumented tooth and the masticatory muscle and joint pain associated with TMD consist of peripheral sensitization at the inflamed/instrumented tooth, activity-dependent changes in trig

Retreatment of failed endodontic cases: A case series highlighting clinical challenges.

Root canal treatment failure commonly results from persistent intracanal infection, missed canal anatomy, inadequate obturation, or procedural complications, often presenting as persistent symptoms or periapical pathology. Nonsurgical endodontic retreatment remains the most conservative and predictable approach for managing such failures by addressing etiological factors while preserving the natural dentition. This case series reports the nonsurgical retreatment of three failed endodontic cases presenting with significant clinical challenges, including a separated instrument, calcified canals,
