BACKGROUND: Testicular germ cell tumour is a multifactorial disease in which various genetic and environmental factors play a role. Testicular germ cell tumour is part of the testicular dysgenesis syndrome which includes also cryptorchidism, hypospadias, oligo/azoospermia and short anogenital distance.

Germ cell tumors (GCTs) localized extragonadally are rare, with only 14 reported cases of a yolk sac tumor in the endometrium. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the endocrine abnormalities in intracranial germ cell tumors (iGCTs) treated with radio-therapy (RT), and to discuss the effects of RT on pituitary functions.
METHODS: Seventy-seven patients diagnosed with iGCTs who had received RT and endocrine follow-up in Huashan Hospital between January 2010 and July 2017 were retrospectively analyzed, consisting of 49 germinomas and 28 NGGCTs. Extragonadal germ cell tumors are rare. Most of these tumors occur in the anterior mediastinum, retroperitoneum, pineal gland, or suprasellar region. Here, we present a case of a 29-year-old man with a paravertebral mass to the right of the T8 and T9 vertebral bodies on MRI and FDG PET/CT. The lesion exhibited intense FDG uptake and invaded the adjacent rib. Postoperative pathological findings confirmed the diagnosis of a germ cell tumor. This case cautions us that extragonadal germ cell tumors should be in the differential diagnostic spectrum of paravertebral lesions.

Adrenal germ cell tumour is very rare. We report a case of a 59-year-old woman who presented with right flank discomfort. The laboratory examinations were normal and the chest computed tomography (CT) showed right pleural effusion. The abdominal CT scan revealed a large mass on the right adrenal gland. BACKGROUND: Neurological involvement due to intraspinal extension in sacrococcygeal malignant germ cell tumors (SC-MGCTs) has rarely been reported.
AIM: To evaluate the incidence, presentation, management and the outcome of patients of SC-MGCT with intraspinal extension.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Case records of all cases of SC-MGCT from 2001 to 2008, were reviewed to identify cases with vertebral involvement and intraspinal extension.
