Prospective single-center study comparing RealPulse® Thulium:YAG and Holmium:YAG laser enucleation of the prostate.

PURPOSE: Holmium:YAG laser enucleation is the current golden standard for endoscopic enuclation of the prostate. Newer laser technologies, such as the RealPulse® Thulium:YAG system, offer different laser–tissue interactions that might affect enucleation efficiency and perioperative outcomes, yet comparative evidence remains limited. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy, safety profile, and short- and intermediate-term outcomes of both lasers. METHODS: In total, 98 men with benign prostatic obstruction, refractory to medication, were included between 13/12/2023 until 13/06

Comparing Thulium Fiber Laser vs Holmium:Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet Laser for Ureteric Stone Lithotripsy: A Prospective, Randomized Controlled Trial.

INTRODUCTION: Holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Ho:YAG) laser is the gold standard for ureteroscopic lithotripsy, but faces challenges such as stone retropulsion. The emerging thulium fiber laser (TFL) offers advantages, including higher efficiency, smaller fiber size, and reduced retropulsion. Our study aims to compare the stone ablation efficiency of TFL and Ho:YAG laser. METHOD: This study is a prospective, single-center, randomized controlled trial comparing TFL and Ho:YAG laser for ureteral stone lithotripsy in 35 patients. The primary outcome is stone ablation efficiency, with secondary

Sequential pulsed dye and Nd:YAG laser therapy for deep venous malformation presenting as recurrent Pyogenic granuloma.

Pyogenic granuloma may recur when an underlying vascular anomaly remains untreated. We report a case of recurrent pyogenic granuloma of the finger pulp associated with a deep venous malformation successfully treated using sequential dual-wavelength pulsed dye laser (PDL, 585-595 nm) and Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm). Four sessions were performed at three-month intervals (PDL 6 J/cm2; Nd:YAG 50 J/cm2; 10-mm spot; long delay sequential mode) with integrated cooling. Complete clinical resolution was achieved without adverse effects or recurrence after five years. Sequential PDL-Nd:YAG therapy represents

Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease recurrence after laser treatment: A case report.

This study reports two cases of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease recurrence after laser treatment. Case 1 involved a woman in her late 70s with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease that was controlled by adalimumab and steroid eye solution therapy. She presented with uveitis recurrence 4 weeks after undergoing neodymium:yttrium aluminum garnet laser posterior capsulotomy in both eyes. She was immediately treated with sub-Tenon triamcinolone acetonide injection in both eyes, which provided palliative relief. During the following year, she experienced further recurrences every 3-5 months. Case 2 involved a

The antibacterial effect of chlorohexidine, Er:YAG laser and diode laser 980 nm as dental cavity disinfectants of dentine: an in vitro study.

OBJECTIVES: Comparison between different disinfection modalities in reducing Streptococcus mutans count within dental cavities. RESEARCH QUESTION: whether using an antibacterial agent has a value in reducing the bacterial load in the dental cavity and what is the best modality. Cariogenic bacteria can remain viable in the dentine even after complete removal of caries, so the use of cavity disinfectants before restoration placement is crucial, such as chlorohexidine, Er:YAG and Diode laser 980 nm. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the antibacterial effect of chlorohexidine, Er:

Progress of clinical research on fractional laser treatment of androgenetic alopecia: A review article.

BACKGROUND: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a prevalent form of hair loss that affects both men and women, severely impacting patients' quality of life. Traditional treatments include oral medications, topical medications, and hair transplantation, but these methods have certain side effects and limitations. How to safely effectively and maximally promote hair growth has been a key issue in the treatment of AGA. In recent years, fractionated laser therapy, as a noninvasive method, has gradually gained attention due to its minimally invasive and highly effective nature. AIMS: In this paper, we

Effectiveness of laser-assisted treatments for medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw: a systematic review.

The feasibility of laser-assisted treatments of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) remains poorly understood, so we have therefore systematically evaluated their effectiveness. We made a comprehensive search of MEDLINE, Pubmed, and Embase to find randomised controlled trials, case-control studies, and prospective cohort studies that assessed them. We assessed the eligible studies in duplicate, and if possible conducted a meta-analysis. Ten studies with a low to high risk of bias met the inclusion criteria. We found that a comparison of pain scores before and after using visibl
