PURPOSE: To investigate the causes and treatments of early complications involving laparoscopic radical resection of choledochal cyst and summarize the experience.
METHODS: Children with choledochal cyst treated by laparoscopy in the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Fujian Provincial Maternity and Children's Hospital, and Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Centre, from March 2016 to May 2018, were retrospectively analysed. Demographics, causes and treatments of early complications, liver function analysis and ultrasonography were collected.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this project was to improve the accuracy of newborn weight classification using a regional newborn growth reference (Olsen), an evidence-based method, to determine SGA, AGA and LGA in term infants compared to the current growth reference (Lubchenco).
DESIGN: Quality improvement methods using Lewin's Change Theory guided the process.

Around 1900 neurasthenia received much attention in both the medical world and society at large. Based on professional publications by Dutch psychiatrists and neurologists and on patient records from the Rhijngeest sanatorium near Leiden in the Netherlands, this article addresses the meanings and interpretations of this nervous disorder as put forward by doctors and patients. We argue that their understanding of this disorder was determined not only by medical views, but also by social-cultural factors and prevailing gender norms.

Over the past 20 years, CT has become the premier imaging technique for evaluating patients presenting with symptoms of acute, severe, abdominal pain. The advent of multidector helical CT (MDCT) has improved the accuracy and expanded the indications for CT of the acute abdomen. MDCT is accurate for nearly all of the numerous etiologies of conditions that require emergency medical or surgical treatment. The proper execution and interpretation of CT in this setting reduces morbidity, mortality, and medical expenses.
