BACKGROUND: Although the pituitary gland is known to harbor metastatic deposits, metastasis from a carcinoid tumor is extremely rare. Metastasis to a pituitary adenoma also is an infrequent occurrence.
CASE REPORT: A case of malignant carcinoid tumor of the anterior mediastinum with metastasis to a prolactin-secreting pituitary adenoma is presented in this 46-year-old woman. This metastatic pituitary tumor demonstrated a high proliferative potential.
CONCLUSION: To our knowledge, this case represents the first documentation of metastasis from a malignant carcinoid tumor to a pituitary adenom

INTRODUCTION: The aim of this work was to determine the usefulness of systematic liver sonography in patients with immature cutaneous hemangiomas.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Children with immature cutaneous hemangiomas who met inclusion criteria underwent liver sonography.
RESULTS: No case of hepatic angioma was observed.
CONCLUSIONS: Liver sonography is not necessary as a routine test in children with several immature angiomas. This examination could be proposed in situations other than those evaluated in this work including miliary angiomas, unusual immature angiomas, hepatomegaly, unexplained

A case is reported of a 30 year old man with a testicular seminoma. He had presented 16 years previously with a pineal germinoma, followed two years later by intracranial metastases. This is an unusual occurrence of double pathology in the germ cell line.

Angiomyolipoma is a rare tumor, frequently associated with tuberous sclerosis, but not observed in its isolated form. Usually, patients with tuberous sclerosis presented with pathognomonic cutaneous and central nervous system lesions. But the thesis of "formes frustes" without typical stigmata was suggested. A case of bilateral and multifocal angiomyolipoma in a young woman without evidence of phacomatosis is reported. The association with a pulmonary lymphangiomatosis make us suspected "a forme fruste" of tuberous sclerosis.

A renal neoplasia, displaying the typical features of angiomyolipoma (an admixture of smooth muscle cells, mature adipocytes and tangles of thick-walled blood vessels) was found in a nine-year-old boy. Among 116 patients with bladder tumors treated during a 17-year period, 2 patients were found to have ureteral tumors (1.7%). The first case was found 8 years after transurethral resection (T.U.R.) and the second case was diagnosed as multiple ureteral tumors 3 years after six T.U.R.s. Long term follow-up by urinary cytology should be performed for patients with bladder tumors to find upper urinary tract tumors, especially for the patient with multiple bladder tumors.

A 72-year-old female underwent surgical resection of lung cancer and mediastinal tumor. Abnormal shadows on the chest roentgenogram were incidentally detected by the regular health screening. Adenocarcinoma of the small intestine is a known complication of celiac sprue. We report a 63-year-old man with a history of celiac disease who developed anemia, guaiac-positive stools, and jaundice. Five discrete adenocarcinomas of the proximal small intestine were identified over a 9 year period. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatographic (ERCP) and radiographic evaluation of the small bowel were helpful in diagnosing adenocarcinoma involving the ampulla of Vater and jejunum. In the literature only 123 cases of tubulovillous adenoma of the duodenum have so far been reported. This rare tumor can be readily diagnosed by endoscopy or hypotonic duodenography. Complete surgical or endoscopic removal is necessary in view of cancerous degeneration in 53% of cases. Depending on the localization, extension and size of the tumor, duodenal segment resection, duodenotomy and submucosal excision or duodenopancreatectomy is the best surgical procedure.

In 1980, a then 7-year-old boy from Yugoslavia had an atrial myxoma removed. Since then there have been no abnormal cardiac signs or symptoms. Between 1982 and 1986 five cutaneous myxomas in the trunk region were removed. None of the tumours had histological signs of malignancy. One of the two types of complications that may occur with organoid nevus (nevus sebaceus) is the category of brain malformations and seizure disorders. The second type is the late occurrence of various epithelial growths that are usually observed to develop in long-standing organoid nevi. Among these later-occurring lesions, we are describing the occurrence of proliferating trichilemmal cysts in association with organoid nevi.

Of 740 cases of glottic cancer, a second respiratory tract tumor developed in 48. Only 14 cases would have been expected in a sample of the same age and sex distribution drawn from the general population of Ontario. Of 25 patients with second tumors in the lung, 23 are dead.
