BACKGROUND: Sebaceous carcinoma (SC) is a rare, aggressive, malignant tumor that is derived from adnexal epithelium of sebaceous glands that are distributed mostly in the skin of the head, neck, and hair-bearing regions of the body.
OBJECTIVE: To discuss the clinical and histologic features and the prognosis of the extraocular SC.

Classic Sturge-Weber syndrome is characterized by a facial nevus and hamartomatous lesion in the brain. Hamartomatous lesions are usually located in the ipsilateral occipital region of the facial nevus. The other lobes may be involved. Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome is characterized by gastrointestinal and cutaneous hemangiomas and gastrointestinal bleeding causing anemia. We report a unique case of this syndrome in an adult woman. The basal cell nevus syndrome (BCNS) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by multiple nevoid basal-cell carcinomas of the skin, recurrent odontogenic keratocysts, skeletal anomalies, developmental malformations, and the predisposition to other neoplastic processes. Among the well known relationships of the syndrome with cancer is that of medulloblastoma. The first known case of BCNS with medulloblastoma in Puerto Rico is presented.

BACKGROUND: The Q-switched ruby laser has been demonstrated to provide selective photothermolysis of pigmented tissue at a wavelength of 694 nm and a pulse width of 40 ns with dermal penetration. It was used to treat 15 patients with nevus of Ota involving the face with an age range of 6 to 52 years. A 67-year-old woman examined 12 months following extracapsular cataract extraction had a massive pseudophakic pigment dispersion associated with diffuse corneal epithelial edema, mild uveitis, and secondary glaucoma. Nevus sebaceus is a benign skin hamartoma of congenital onset that grows during puberty, and in adulthood can develop secondary benign and malignant neoplasms. The most common benign neoplasms occurring in nevus sebaceus are believed to be syringocystadenoma papilliferum, trichilemmoma, and trichoblastoma.
