This paper reports 3 cases of rhinoliths 20, 14, and 45 years in duration respectively observed during the last 3 years. Rhinoliths caused difficulty of nasal breathing on the side of their localization accompanied by serous discharge from the nose and atrophy of turbinate bones; moreover, they provoked the development of maxilloethmoidal sinusitis, nasal polyps, and deviation of the nasal septum. The surgical removal of the rhinoliths promoted elimination of these complications. A new classification of rhinoliths distinguishing between 4 groups of these stone-like structures is proposed.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of mucoregulatory agents during endoscopic sinus surgery.
METHOD: Ninety-seven cases with chronic rhinosinusitis were randomly divided into three groups, with 31 cases in B group treated by ambroxol, 33 cases in C group treated by eucalyptol-limonene-pinene enteric soft capsule and 33 cases in control group (A group). The follow-up visit lasted for 6 months for three groups. Then, the therapeutic effects were evaluated and compared among these three groups.

Sinonasal teratocarcinosarcoma (SNTCS) is a rare and highly malignant tumour with combined features of a teratoma and carcinosarcoma. We report the first case of a SNTCS in 23 year old male treated with neo-adjuvant chemotherapy followed by cranio-facial resection. We introduce here an easy but effective method for detailed observation of the larynx and hypopharynx. During the endoscopic observation, the patient's head is turned to one side. Anatomical structures on the same side of the endolarynx, such as the laryngeal ventricle and inferior surface of the vocal fold, are easily observed. METHODS: Thirty-five patients aged 25-39 years with asthenospermia with epididymal knob were received at our clinic of andrology from May 2003 to July 2004, and given oral L-carnitine 2 g/d for 3 months. The prevalence of entry lesions in limbs was significantly higher in limbs with filarial lymphoedema (80.88%) than in normal limbs (42.86%, P = 0.000012).
