Adult cases of visceral leishmaniasis (VL), predominantly males, have been reported in the past decade from natives of high altitude areas of North Indian state of Uttarakhand. Neonatal adrenal hemorrhage (NAH) is a rare condition that commonly presents with retroperitoneal bleeding in neonates. We report a term male neonate born through vaginal delivery who presented with respiratory distress and shock on the first day of his life. A 71-year-old man with bothersome lower urinary tract symptoms from an enlarged prostate underwent monopolar transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). Following the 75-min procedure, he developed hypertension, pallor, and shivering. PURPOSE: To describe a case of subconjunctival masses with multiple intracranial masses diagnosed as Rosai-Dorfman disease by biopsy.
METHODS: Case report.
RESULTS: A 25-year-old white man presented with bilateral subconjunctival masses, left optic nerve pallor, and posterior segment changes suggestive of regressed choroidal disease. Systemic evaluation was instituted including blood testing, neuroimaging, brain biopsy, and biopsy of the left subconjunctival mass. We describe the occurrence of vasovagal reaction in two patients who underwent CT colonography (CTC). The patients, asymptomatic, were submitted to CTC in one case after right colectomy and in one case for screening purposes. The vasovagal symptoms occurred after pneumocolon and acquisition in the prone decubitus, and included headache, hypotension, bradycardia, cold sweat and pallor, nausea, and diaphoresis.
