In polytraumatized patients with fracture of the pelvis and injury to the other organs, the clinical picture is dominated by a hypovolemic shock, which is difficult to control. Surgical intervention must be quick in cases of external or internal bleeding. The importance of reaching a quick diagnosis cannot be emphasized enough, upon which the life of the patient is greatly dependent. We present a case of a rare renal anomaly in which the 2 kidneys (separate or fused across the midline) are drained by a common renal pelvis and ureter. Previously reported cases have been reviewed and are classified in 3 groups according to their anatomical features. The lesion is associated with some frequency with imperforate anus, sacral and other vertebral defects, neurogenic bladder, vesicoureteral reflux, upper tract dilatation, and urinary tract infections.

A 63-year-old man admitted to our hospital with severe pain in his right flank on June 4, 1987. After admission, his pain increased progressively and he complained of tenderness from the right flank to the right lower quadrant. In a case report the diagnostics of a perforation of the renal pelvis using ultrasound is presented. Spontaneous urinary extravasations of the renal pelvis may appear in a previously diseased urinary tract also without the diuretic effect of contrast media. The ultrasound examination show the perirenal fluid collections and the diagnosis of spontaneous perforation of the renal pelvis is stated together with the clinical course.

We report 54 patients with urothelial tumors in upper urinary tract admitted to our hospital between July, 1962 and December, 1985. The patients consisted of 38 males and 16 females; side their ages ranged from 47 to 88 years with a mean of 63.4 years. The affected side was the right side in 21 cases, and the left side in 33 cases. Macro-or microhematuria was observed in 87% of the patients. By means of neurohistological and histochemical methods using serial sections of the embryos at the age of 12-30 days of development, the premediatory and beginning of the mediatory stages in development of cholinergic and adrenergic neural plexuses have been studied in rabbit small pelvis. Appearance of catecholamine-containing cells at early mediatory stages and a gradual development and complication of the cholinergic and adrenergic neural plexuses structure are demonstrated. By birth in the rabbit small pelvis area, some elements of cholinergic and adrenergic structures begin to form.

In a 54 year old, algerian male we found a inoperable hydatid disease of the pelvis. A treatment by flubendazole 4 g/day is started on February 1982. The patient presents a neck of the femur fracture, on April 1982; on September 1982 he had a myocardial infarctus and a second one in February 1983. On March 1983 he had a new femur fracture. The biological data show no difference in hypereosinophilia and serological exploration. In this case the result is poor.

In 43 patients with equivocal pelvi-ureteric obstruction, conventional urography was supplemented with diuresis urography. After peroral hydration with 0.5 liters fluid, a large volume of urographic contrast medium was administered and increased diuresis provoked by intravenous injection of furosemide. A relative obstruction of flow was then accentuated by increased dilatation of the renal pelvis. The technique deserves a wider use in the radiologic investigation of patients with equivocal obstruction at the pelvi-ureteric junction.
