BACKGROUND: Heart tumors are rare in dogs. They can be benign or malignant. Clinical signs depend primarily on the location of the tumor and its effect on blood flow.
CASE PRESENTATION: An eleven-year-old crossbreed male dog lethargic and anorectic for previous 3 days was presented to the veterinary clinic. The focused ultrasound assessment with sonograms in trauma (FAST) revealed multiple tumors in the heart which were then confirmed in echocardiographic examination performed by a veterinary cardiologist. Due to the poor general condition and grave prognosis, the dog was humanely euthanized.

Cellular angiofibroma (AF)/Angiomyofibroblastoma (AMF)-like tumor is a rare benign mesenchymal neoplasm. It is very challenging to distinguish benign versus malignant mass radiologically. It is of paramount importance to distinguish Cellular Angiofibroma (CAF) microscopically from its differential diagnoses. A 64-year-old man presented with scrotal swelling. Metastatic leiomyomatosis is a rare but potentially life-threatening tumor of smooth muscle cells. Leiomyomas originate predominantly in the uterus and can spread to the lung and, rarely, the heart. We present a case of a 36-year-old woman with known pelvic leiomyomatosis with metastasis to the tricuspid valve. Tricuspid valve replacement was complicated by retroperitoneal hemorrhage from residual pelvic tumor. This potentially catastrophic occurrence should be considered when undertaking resection of intracardiac leiomyomatosis.

This report describes the surgical therapy, clinical course and morphological characteristics of an adenomatoid odontogenic tumor that developed in the maxilla of a 16-year-old patient. The cystic tumor filled the maxillary sinus and was removed with the retained tooth. Healing was uneventful and no local recurrence was observed during a two-year period of follow-up control. The tumor showed immunoreactivity for certain types of cytokeratins, vimentin and p63, and was focally immunoreactive for alpha smooth muscle actin and epithelial membrane antigen.

A case of an angiomyolipoma of the large intestine occurring in a 55-year-old man without evidence of tuberous sclerosis is reported. Endoscopically, the lesion resembled a sessile adenomatous polyp. The tumor measured 1 cm. Histologic examination revealed a lesion composed predominantly of spindle and epithelioid cells with significant nuclear atypia. Mitoses were rare. The tumor was strongly positive for HMB-45, CD68, vimentin, desmin, and smooth muscle actin. Rare scattered cells reacted with CD34. No residual tumor was found in the resected colon.

Individuals with germ line or somatic mutations of fumarate hydratase are predisposed to the development of leiomyomas of the skin and uterus. In this case report, we will describe the uterine smooth muscle tumors in a young patient who was originally diagnosed with ALM from a myomectomy specimen and experienced recurrence many years later. Leiomyomas are benign smooth muscle tumors. A leiomyoma originating from the vein is rare. We describe a primary femoral vein tumor that was diagnosed as an unusual leiomyoma in a 50-year-old woman. It was the first reported leiomyoma in the femoral vein in English studies. We have reviewed the studies on leiomyoma from the blood vessel and summarized their characteristics, therapies, and prognosis.
