Distraction osteogenesis (DO) has recently been applied to the palate. Successful posterior lengthening and medial advancement of the palates was continuously reported. SETTING: Tertiary academic IVF program.
PATIENT(S): A 35-year-old woman who conceived from IVF-ET treatment at 5.5 weeks of gestation.

Urgent perforating keratoplasty was carried out in 52 patients with infective involvement of the cornea at the site of sutures after cataract extraction, perforating keratoplasty, and treatment of penetrating wounds of the cornea. Recent genetic studies have shown that Apert's syndrome results from mutations of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) receptor 2 gene. We were interested in investigating the expression of FGF receptor 2 at the tissue level in children with Apert's syndrome. We studied FGF receptor activity in cranial sutures of children with Apert's syndrome and nonsyndromic, isolated craniosynostosis. To determine whether closing the scleral flap with extra sutures can reduce the risk of overfiltration after trabeculectomy, we divided 339 trabeculectomies into three groups based on the number of scleral flap sutures used in the procedure, and studied the postoperative complications and results. We used releasable sutures to minimize immediate postoperative hypotony and flat anterior chamber in 19 cases of refractory glaucoma requiring insertion of a single-plate Molteno implant in a one-stage procedure. A slip knot using 7-0 nylon suture was fashioned around the Molteno tube under a lamellar scleral flap. In 18 of the 19 eyes, anterior chamber depth was normal immediately after surgery.

The tissue reaction in rabbit iris and cornea to prolene suture is equivalent to the tissue reaction to nylon suture. The prolene suture retains its tensile strength indefinitely and this may make it particularly useful in situations where a permanent suture is desired, such as in refractive keratoplasty, scleral buckle, or to suture an intraocular lens to the iris. The prolene suture also has a greater elasticity and this property may be advantageous in some clinical applications. We feel that a clinical study on humans is now warranted and we have started such a study.

BACKGROUND: Midface aging is characterized by descent of the malar fat pad, elongation of the lid-cheek junction, deepening of the nasolabial fold, and loss of malar projection. While endoscopic midface lift techniques provide effective rejuvenation with concealed incisions, many approaches require specialized fixation devices, intraoral access, or extensive dissection, limiting widespread adoption. We describe a hybrid endoscopic-preauricular suture-suspension midface lift designed to preserve the advantages of endoscopic visualization while simplifying execution and reducing cost.

UNLABELLED: The paper studies the results of surgical treatment of the first 25 patients with diaphragmatic hernias who underwent laparoscopic surgeries for hiatal hernias using polypropylene mesh sutures using the proprietary method.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Polypropylene mesh strips were used instead of traditional sutures to seal the crura of the diaphragm in 25 patients. The intervention technique and treatment outcomes are described. The study included 25 patients, 5 males and 20 females, operated on between 2019 and 2024 with a diagnosis of hiatal hernia (HH), aged 38 to 79 years.

Background A retrospective review was performed of 15 adult patients who underwent arthroscopic suture anchor scapholunate capsuloligamentous repair between 2021 and 2023.
