Here, we present a case of pneumoperitoneum caused by traumatic pneumothorax after a fall. The patient is an 82-year-old male who was brought into the emergency department after being found at the bottom of a flight of stairs with a bleeding scalp laceration. Tension pneumopericardium is a rare complication of gunshot wounds. A 28 year-old male patient with tension pneumopericardium after chest trauma by gunshot bullet injury was reported. The aim of this study was to evaluate the day-to-day trauma care in a developing country highlighted by a major accident. In this accident, early management was not carried out according to triage principles. Scene mortality and in-hospital mortality were 72% (n = 55) and 14% (n = 3), respectively. Traumatic pneumothorax is a common complication of the IV drug abusers in Detroit who utilize the "pocket shot" (the central approach to the internal jugular vein). Fourteen patients who sustained a total of 16 pneumothoraces (two with bilateral collapse) and who underwent catheter aspiration of a simple pneumothorax (CASP) were studied prospectively. Catheter aspiration for simple pneumothorax (CASP) was evaluated prospectively in the outpatient management of simple traumatic pneumothorax in 17 patients and compared to conventional tube thoracostomy (CTT) in 17 matched control patients.
