INTRODUCTION: We present a case of a 13-week abdominal pregnancy evaluated with ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging.

We report on 3 patients with intraperitoneal charcoal-induced granulomas mimicking peritoneal carcinomatosis on PET-CT images. The authors report a case of a patient with splenic metastasis with previous history of colorectal cancer. A 69-year-old woman underwent a left hemicolectomy for sigmoid colon cancer. Colorectal cancer is extremely rare in children and presents with a poor prognosis because of the delay in diagnosis and lack of histological differentiation. We report a case of a sigmoid colon carcinoma with areas of neuroendocrine cells in a 12-year-old patient without familial occurrence of colorectal cancer. The patient was a 69-year-old man who had undergone a sigmoidectomy for cancer of the sigmoid colon on March 25, 1993. We detected the elevation of CEA after the operation. Computed tomography revealed multiple metastasis of the liver on September 3, 1996. A total of 196 records of colonoscopic surgical complications were reviewed during a 12-year period. Perforation (183 patients) and haemorrhage (11) were the two main complications. Diagnosis of perforation was delayed in 58 per cent of patients. The sigmoid colon was the site of perforation in 72 per cent with evidence of peritoneal contamination in 59 per cent. 598 colorectal polyps were removed by therapeutic colonoscopy from 377 patients, of both sexes, between 1 and 88 years old, most of them with lower digestive symptoms. The polyps were unique in 67.37% and multiple in 32.63% of patients, and mostly located in rectum and sigmoid colon; 42.14% were pedunculated, 33.95% sessile++/sub-pedunculated, and 23.91% sessile in shape. In 51% the size was over 10 mm in diameter. BACKGROUND: Neutropenic enterocolitis is a serious complication involving the bowel in patients with severe neutropenia. Most of the patients are undergoing chemotherapy for acute leukemia.
METHODS: This is a report of three cases of nonleukemic neutropenic enterocolitis. In these cases neutropenia was caused by an analgesic (dipyrone), chemotherapy for multiple myeloma, and chemotherapy for lung carcinoma. Two patients were treated by surgery, one medically.
RESULTS: The patient with multiple myeloma who was treated by exteriorization of the sigmoid colon died on the tenth postoperative day

A transformant having ret-II was obtained by transfection of NIH3T3 cells with DNA from a human sigmoid colon cancer. Six patients with pseudomembranous entercolitis were seen at one institution over a six-month period. Clindamycin therapy preceded the diagnosis in all six patients and possibly caused the disease in five cases.
