A 2-year-old Holstein heifer was presented at 7 months gestation with a 2-day history of premature mammary enlargement. It was suspected that the dam was showing clinical symptoms of a pending abortion. Through diagnostic testing and postmortem examination, a final diagnosis of hydrops allantois and amnion was determined.

We report a 29 week-gestation preterm infant who presented during his second week of life with cardiogenic shock. Clinical presentation and first diagnostics suggested myocardial infarction, but echocardiographic features during follow-up pointed to a diagnosis of enteroviral myocarditis. CONTEXT: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) progresses to distant metastases in most cases. The most frequent sites for distant metastases are the bones, central nervous system, adrenal glands and liver. Dissemination to the skin, myocardium, thyroid gland and intestine may occur, but is rare.
CASE REPORT: We describe a case of squamous cell carcinoma in the lungs, with metastases in the colon and thyroid, in a 66-year-old female patient. The lesion was unresectable and chemotherapy was started. The patient evolved with intestinal subocclusion, and colonoscopy showed the presence of a polyp.

OBJECTIVE: To report laparoscopic splenectomy in a dog.
STUDY DESIGN: Clinical report.
ANIMALS: Mixed breed dog (n=1).
METHODS: Hemangiosarcoma was diagnosed by ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration of a splenic mass in an 11-year-old, 30 kg, mixed breed dog. No metastatic disease was identified during complete staging (chest radiographs, echocardiogram, and abdominal ultrasonography); however, cystic calculi were identified. Laparoscopic splenectomy using Ligasure V was performed through 3 portals and the calculi were removed by laparoscopic-assisted cystoscopy.
