PURPOSE: This study compared health related quality of life (HRQOL) among lumber disc surgery patients to general population, and assessed the relationships between HRQOL and other outcome measures 2 and 14 months after surgery.

In this work we studied the inguinal-abdominal region and the inguinal canal using three-dimensional geometrical models. We built the models through computer aided geometric modeling techniques on the basis of observations during real dissections, operations and diagnostic medical imaging. BACKGROUND: Necrotizing pancreatitis is a poorly understood process that has been treated by a variety of surgical approaches. Despite advances in operative interventions and critical care, this disease often requires prolonged resource allocation and continues to cause substantial morbidity, with mortality rates ranging from 11% to 40%.
