Single-Port Robotic Sacrocolpopexy: Description of an Advanced Minimally Invasive Approach and Review of the Relevant Literature.

INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS: Sacrocolpopexy is the gold standard for the surgical management of apical prolapse. Over the years, surgical advancements have transformed the procedure from a laparotomy with a hospital stay of several days to a minimally invasive approach with a much shorter hospital stay. One recent innovation has the potential to transform minimally invasive sacrocolpopexy. METHODS: The da Vinci single-port robotic platform has allowed urological procedures to generate improved recovery, pain control, and cosmesis, with no differences in complications rates. RESULTS: Although

Robotic ALPPS for primary and metastatic liver tumours: short-term outcomes versus open approach.

Associating Liver Partition and Portal vein ligation for Staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) is one of the strategies available for patients initially unresectable. High risk of peri-operative morbidity and mortality limited its application and diffusion. We aimed to analyse short-term outcomes of robotic ALPPS versus open approach, to assess safety and reproducibility of this technique. A retrospective analysis of prospectively maintained databases at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia on patients that underwent ALPPS between January 2015 and September 2022 was conducted. The main aim of the study

A novel single-port robot for total gastrectomy to treat gastric cancer: A case report (with video).

Multiport robots are now widely used for total gastrectomy for gastric cancer, while there is almost a void of research on whether single-port (SP) robots can be used for total gastrectomy. Here, we report a case of a 75-year-old female patient who was diagnosed with gastric cardia adenocarcinoma by gastroscopy and underwent total gastrectomy assisted by the SHURUI SP robot. We successfully accomplished total gastrectomy and D2 lymph node dissection using the novel SP robotic platform. The patient was discharged from the hospital successfully with no complications during or after the surgery.

A Rare Case of Urinary Bladder Leiomyoma Invading Urachal Remnant Managed With Robotic Partial Cystectomy.

Leiomyoma is a rare benign tumour of the urinary bladder. Typically, bladder leiomyomas are treated with transurethral resection, which yields favourable results. We present a clinical case of a 29-year-old man with a symptomatic bladder tumour, initially diagnosed on flexible cystoscopy and CT scan. Subsequent transurethral resection and MRI scan confirmed a transmural bladder leiomyoma invading the urachal remnant. The patient was subsequently treated with robotic partial cystectomy. The presentation and management, including imaging and histopathology results, are discussed with a brief rev

Exploring the safety and efficacy of robotic neurosurgery in the management of intracerebral hemorrhage: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) carries a high mortality rate of around 50% annually, with management traditionally involving medical and surgical approaches. This systematic review and meta-analysis compare robotic neurosurgery with conventional treatments for ICH. We adhered to PRISMA guidelines, analyzing data from MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane CENTRAL up to October 2023, including randomized controlled trials, non-randomized controlled trials, and cohort studies. We evaluated outcomes such as operation time, drainage time, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalization, mortality, and complicat

Cecal volvulus after robotic assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy in a gynecologic oncology patient: A case report.

Cecal volvulus is a rare and life-threatening cause of intestinal obstruction with multiple risk factors including prior abdominal surgery and cecal hypermobility. Although its incidence has been reported after common procedures such as cholecystectomy and appendectomy, it has not been well studied after laparoscopy, especially in gynecological surgeries. If untreated, a cecal volvulus can result in serious complications such as intestinal strangulation, necrosis, or perforation. Therefore, early identification of risk factors and intervention is important in prevention of these sequelae. Here
