OBJECTIVE: To compare tubal patency by using hysterosalpingography (HSG) in women with unruptured ectopic tubal pregnancy who were treated with either single-dose or multiple-dose methotrexate (MTX) regimen.
DESIGN: A case series with a retrospective statistical analysis.
SETTING: Maternity and teaching hospital in Turkey.
PATIENT(S): Sixty-one patients treated with MTX therapy for unruptured tubal ectopic pregnancy.
INTERVENTION(S): Thirty-one patients received single-dose and 30 multiple-dose MTX treatment. The HSG was performed 4 to 6 months after treatment to assess tubal patency.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the value of laparoscopy in the diagnosis of pelvic masses in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.
METHODS: The results of laparoscopic examination performed in 117 perimenopausal and postmenopausal women with pelvic masses were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTS: Malignant tumors in 19 cases (16.2%) and benign tumors were identified in 98 cases, and all of them managed laparoscopically.
CONCLUSION: Laparoscopy is safe and accurate in diagnosing pelvic masses in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, and may help define the quality of the masse and provides means

The authors analyzed the microbiological findings in 39 female patients with tubo-ovarian abscesses and intrauterine devices (IUD). An anaerobic microflora was isolated in 66.67% of the aspirates after puncture of cavum Douglasi (CD) as well as in 41.67% of the abdominal exudates or abscesses during laparotomy. INTRODUCTION: Primary ovarian carcinoid tumours are uncommon neoplasias. There are distinct histological types with different behaviours: insular, trabecular, mucinous and mixed. The association of ovarian carcinoma with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is rare. There have been different case reports indicating an association between solid tumors and ITP. We report a case of a 47-year-old woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer who presented with abdominal distention and thrombocytopenia.
