BACKGROUND: Increasing indications for cellular therapy collections have stressed our healthcare system, with autologous collections having a longer than desired wait time until apheresis collection. This quality improvement initiative was undertaken to accommodate more patients within existing resources.
STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: Patients with multiple myeloma who underwent autologous peripheral blood stem cell collection from October 2022 to April 2023 were included. Demographic, mobilization, laboratory, and apheresis data were retrospectively collected from the medical record.

Ischemic stroke is confounded by conditions such as atherosclerosis, diabetes, and infection, all of which alter peripheral inflammatory processes with concomitant impact on stroke outcome. The majority of the stroke patients are elderly, but the impact of interactions between aging and inflammation on stroke remains unknown. BACKGROUND: To determine a new taxane plus platinum treatment regimen for squamous cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix (CSCC), a phase I feasibility study of docetaxel (DTX) plus nedaplatin (CDGP) combination therapy was conducted.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Twenty consecutive patients were enrolled into the study. The starting dose of DTX/CDGP was 60 mg/m2 / 80 mg/m2, every 4 weeks for at least three courses and the dose was escalated to 70 mg/m2 / 100 mg/m2. Hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS) is a rare complication of lymphoma. We report a 70-year-old woman with human adjuvant disease who developed lymphoma-associated HPS (LAHPS) and elevated serum soluble interleukin (IL)-2 receptor. Despite intensive therapy, she died of pneumonia. Necropsy revealed a prominent spleen containing atypical T cells and many erythrophagocytizing histiocytes.
