Exploring the mechanism by which tourists' perceived value influences revisit intention in sustainable gardens: A case study of KICG-sustainable garden, Shanghai.

Sustainable gardens have emerged as innovative models of urban tourism that integrate ecological aesthetics, participatory design, and community well-being. This study explores how tourists' perceived value influences revisit intention and introduces two experiential moderators-narrative transportation and empowerment capability-to uncover the underlying psychological and participatory mechanisms that drive behavioral intention. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining grounded theory interviews to develop the conceptual framework with a large-scale survey analyzed using structural equ

The analytic sample included 1,742 interviews at baseline (Wave 5) and 4,002 person-wave observations across six waves. Generalized Estimating Equations were used to estimate population-averaged associations while account

Identifying Work-Related Factors Leading to Awkward Postures and Musculoskeletal Disorders in Crane Operators: Insights From a Grounded Theory Study.

BACKGROUND: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) remain a leading cause of occupational disability worldwide. Overhead crane operators are frequently exposed to awkward postures that increase the risk of MSDs. While physical conditions are often blamed, the broader organizational and ergonomic context remains underexplored. METHODS: This study employed a grounded theory approach, conducting 52 semi-structured interviews with crane operators and safety personnel in a large Iranian steel company. Transcripts were analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding via MAXQDA software. RESULTS: Eight

Thinking Global, Acting Local: Supporting Resilience Through Hyper-Local Sport Programming for Global Majority Youth.

Global majority youth face disproportionate psychosocial stressors and heightened exposure to community violence. Resilience is a key protective factor, and hyper-local sport programs may support its development through culturally responsive mentorship, family and community co-ownership, and psychologically safe spaces. This study explored how such programs in London, UK, may support resilience and perceived community safety among global majority youth. Using interpretative phenomenological analysis and a multi-stakeholder approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 38 respondents

"It's There, but Not for Us": Pharmacy Students' Lived Experiences of Mental Health Support at a South African University.

This study explored pharmacy students' lived experiences of mental health support structures at a University in South Africa. A qualitative phenomenological design was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews (n = 20) and document analysis of institutional mental health resources (2020-2024). Thematic analysis revealed five interrelated themes: awareness and visibility of support; barriers to access and utilization; institutional responses to mental health crises; cultural and contextual misalignment; and informal support and coping strategies. Although formal support s

Psychosocial perspective on the integration of individuals deprived of liberty: a lexicometric analysis.

OBJECTIVE: While some aspects of the prison system are documented, the psychosocial experiences of individuals during incarceration and their reintegration after release remain relatively underexamined and poorly understood by the broader public. Semi-structured interviews provided direct and personal insights, analyzed using IRAMuTeQ software to identify key themes. Two main subcorpora emerged: one addressing the experiences wit

This qualitative study explored healthcare professionals' experiences in managing patient-initiated fasting within a culturally and religiously diverse palliative care context in Saudi Arabia. Sixteen participants-including nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals-were interviewed using a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach and analyzed through reflexive thematic analysis. Four interrelated themes emerged: (1) between respect and responsibility, reflecting

A qualitative study of question-posing anxiety in Chinese postgraduates in UK TESOL programs.

In English-medium postgraduate classrooms, particularly within MSc/MA TESOL programs in the UK, many Chinese students hesitate to pose questions despite possessing advanced English proficiency. This qualitative study aims to address three critical gaps in the literature: (1) the underexploration of postgraduate learners' affective experiences in immersive English-speaking contexts, (2) the neglect of routine classroom interactions such as question-posing compared to formal speaking tasks, and (3) the limited understanding of how cultural and educational traditions shape anxiety in graduate-lev

Consensus Document SEPAR-AAMR-ALAT-ASONEUMOCITO-SMNCT on Assessment and Treatment for Consumers of New Tobacco and Nicotine Products.

The use of new tobacco and nicotine products (electronic nicotine delivery system, heated tobacco, and smoking water pipes) has increased in recent years worldwide. This has led to the emergence of a new smoker profile whose diagnostic and therapeutic approach is different from that of conventional tobacco smokers. The demand for help in quitting these new forms of smoking necessitates the development of guidelines or recommendations that are not currently available. Therefore, the Tobacco Control Group of the Spanish Society of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR) and in collaboration wit

Taking a step back: Parents' experiences of the decision-making process for elective orthognathic surgery in cleft lip and palate (IPA).

OBJECTIVE: This study explored parents' experiences of the transition of responsibility to their child for healthcare decisions relating to their cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P). METHODS: Online semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 participants (six females and five males, aged 41 to 60 years). They were parents of young people who had decided whether to undergo orthognathic surgery. The data were transcribed and analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). RESULTS: A responsibility shift from participants to their children was identified in 2 main themes 'A nat

Lived experiences of neurofibromatosis type 1 patients: Social life, stigma, and intervention strategies.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a neurogenetic disorder associated with visual-spatial problems, executive dysfunction, and language deficits, making patients experience social isolation, stigma, anxiety, and depression. Here, we explored NF1 patients' lived experiences by conducting semi-structured, in-depth interviews with 21 NF1 patients and 16 care providers. The thematic analysis uncovered dimensions of NF1 patients' social lives at different ecological levels, including their relationships with family, friends, teachers, coworkers, providers, and society. Positive dimensions of NF1 pat

Impact of IVF on the Timing and Symptoms of Menopause.

BACKGROUND: Age-related loss of female fertility is characterized by a decline in both the quantity and quality of ovarian follicles. Symptoms of ovarian stimulation, which is part of the process of in vitro fertilization (IVF), vary among women. This study was conducted to analyze the differences in menopausal timing and symptoms in women who had undergone IVF compared to those who had natural pregnancies. METHODOLOGY: In this cross-sectional study, menopausal women were categorized into two groups: those who had undergone IVF (n = 50) and those who had not (n = 50). Clinical data were obtai

Socio-family support for parents of technology-dependent extremely preterm infants after hospital discharge.

Parents of extremely preterm infants (<28 weeks of gestation) report high levels of stress and anxiety related to daily needs after hospital discharge. Social support has a significant role in reducing the negative psychological impact of preterm birth and parents' adaptation to caregiving. We conducted a hermeneutic phenomenological study using Gadamer's approach to explore and describe the experiences of parents of technology-dependent extremely preterm infants of socio-family support after hospital discharge. The study was conducted in four several Spanish organizations for families with pr

Mifepristone restrictions and primary care: Breaking the cycle of stigma through a learning collaborative model in the United States.

Despite its safety record, mifepristone is subject to a highly restrictive set of regulatory measures through the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) by the US Food and Drug Administration. We argue that these restrictions both reflect and perpetuate a cycle of abortion stigma, creating particular barriers to mifepristone use in primary care settings where communities that historically experience barriers to care can most easily access reproductive health services. Through qualitative interviews with Illinois primary care clinicians, we discovered how the REMS heightens institutiona
