Dentigerous cysts are the most common bony lesions of the jaws in children. A 14-year-old female presented with extraoral inverted eruption of left mandibular permanent molars 18 and 19 at the lower left inferior border of the mandible. Both the teeth started erupting 1 year after an extraoral surgical intervention for a discharging sinus 6 years ago. The subsequent eruption to the extraoral position of the permanent molars at the inferior border of mandible may be the result of the previous surgical procedure or pathology related to the abnormally positioned teeth. This case presents an infrequent complication affecting the adjacent permanent teeth.

A family is described, where the mother and her two sons had similar bilateral congenital absences of the following maxillary teeth: the second premolars, the first, second and possibly the third molars, as well as, in the sons, the second primary molars. The size, shape and formation of the remaining teeth were within normal limits. The near relatives of the parents had no history of hypodontia. The family members were otherwise healthy except that the mother and one of the sons had a slight nasality of speech. Moreover, the mother and both sons had adhesive otitis.

Complete absence of third molars and mandibular permanent second molars is reported in a 19-year-old female, with occipito-frontal head circumference and height at the 3rd centile. The patient's intelligence, appearance and physical examination were normal. Direct count of the patient's sweat pores in different areas of the palms and digits was normal. Microcephaly, short stature and normal intelligence have been reported in two families as a distinct autosomal dominant syndrome. To the best of our knowledge, oligodontia, in addition to these findings, has not been previously reported.

A case is reported of a 15 years old Chinese female with Larsen syndrome exhibiting many characteristic facial and skeletal features plus hitherto unreported orofacial anomalies including delayed dental development; hypodontia affecting all the permanent canines, second and third molars, maxillary lateral incisors and second premolars; morphological anomalies of the maxillary first premolars and molars; a class 3 skeletal pattern and reduced upper facial height. Cephalometric radiographs showed the skull bones to have an appearance similar to that of osteopetrosis.
