Syphilis is back since 2000. Early syphilis comprises primary syphilis, secondary syphilis and early latent syphilis (less than 1 year duration). During early phases of syphilis, patients are more contagious and neurologic complications are rare. Early neurosyphilis are mostly represented by uveitis or cranial nerves lesions. Treatment of non-neurologic syphilis are based on intramusculary injection of benzathine-penicilline G: one injection in case of early syphilis, three injections in case of late syphilis. Post-operative Nocardia endophthalmitis has an aggressive course and poor visual prognosis. It often masquerades as severe post-operative uveitis or toxic anterior segment syndrome due to the absence of vitreous involvement resulting in a delay in diagnosis. PURPOSE: To report a case of external ophthalmomyiasis manifesting with keratouveitis.
CASE REPORT: A 77-year-old man, presented with keratouveitis secondary to external ophthalmomyiasis. Slit-lamp examination of the affected eye disclosed subepithelial linear opacities, stromal keratitis, and anterior uveitis. There were also some moving maggots identified as Oestrus ovis larvae. Following removal of the maggots and instillation of tobramycin, the symptoms completely resolved within 2 days and visual acuity improved.

UNLABELLED: Pars planitis is the idiopathic form of intermediate uveitis; it most commonly affects persons between 5 and 40 years of age. Behçet's disease is a multisystemic disease affecting most organs. Although a tendency towards an association with a certain genetic type and with HLA-B51 is suspected, the incidence of several siblings with Behçet's disease in a single family is rare. In seven eyes of four patients, retinal hemorrhages were observed following trabeculectomy under both local and general anesthesia. The hemorrhages were diffuse, both deep and superficial, and many had white centers when first observed. Two patients were young healthy male myopes undergoing primary trabeculectomy. The clinical features and some laboratory parameters of 247 cases of meningococcal meningitis admitted between January 1983 and April 1990 to a paediatric ward in Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College Hospital, India were analyzed retrospectively. We report a case of severe, bilateral panuveitis with disseminated chorioretinis. With systemic steroid therapy the inflammation resolved within 4 weeks, resulting in chorioretinal scarring. Because the agglutination titer against Yersinia enterocolitica type 3 was increased to 6 times over normal, we consider Yersinia to be the most probable cause of the panuveitis.
