BACKGROUND: Broilers are vulnerable to various types of microorganisms, including Salmonella, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, resulting in multiple infections. Broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs such as florfenicol (FF) are widely used in the treatment of such infections. Suspected residues of these drugs in body tissues of treated birds can be passed to humans through meat consumption and thus lead to serious ill effects on human health. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for distinguishing tuberculosis from other types of meningoencephalitis.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: MRIs of 100 patients with tuberculous (50), pyogenic (33), viral (14), or fungal (3) meningoencephalitis were analyzed independently by 2 radiologists. Number, size, location, signal characteristics, surrounding edema, and contrast enhancement pattern of nodular lesions; location and pattern of meningeal enhancement; extent of infarct or encephalitis and hydrocephalus were evaluated.

The status of the 'Dhat syndrome' is called into question by the results of an epidemiological study of men attending general medical clinics in Lahore. The Dhat complaint was reported by 30% of men attending medical clinics, and to an equal extent by patients with 'functional' and 'organic' diagnoses. It was strongly associated with depressed mood, fatigue symptoms, and a DSM-III-R diagnosis of depression. It is argued that the Dhat complaint should be primarily regarded not as the focus of a culture-bound syndrome, but as a culturally determined symptom associated with depression.

This study is intended to explore the relationship of etiologies of neck space infection (NSI) and its prevalent microorganisms of NSI and to compare the treatments and its clinical outcomes with other studies. A retrospective study of 1 year duration from April 2022-April 2023 at ENT department Hospital Sibu includes total 40 NSI patients. 30 male and 10 female patients, with a male-to-female ratio of 3 were studied, with a mean age of 35.07 (± 18.25) years. Diabetes mellitus still constituted a high risk factor (27.3%), while patients with biohazard status (Hepatitis B and C) contributes 15.
