Sonographic pleural line excursion in children with bronchospasm: a prospective single-center study.

Pediatric asthma scoring relies on subjective findings with poor interrater reliability. We prospectively studied children presenting to a pediatric emergency department with acute wheeze requiring beta-agonist therapy, measuring pleural line excursion (maximum minus minimum vertical displacement of the pleural line) from M-mode ultrasound video using a custom algorithm. Fifty children were analyzed. A multivariate logistic regression model constructed to predict hospital admission, combining excursion with peripheral capillary oxygen saturation (SpO2), age-adjusted heart-rate percentile and a

Effectiveness of a Multicomponent Formulation: A Prospective Observational Study in Patients with Gastroesophageal Reflux Symptoms.

Background: Gastroesophageal reflux symptoms (GERSs) represent the most prevalent phenotype of gastroesophageal reflux disease and frequently overlap with the symptoms of functional dyspepsia, posing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Limitations of long-term acid suppression have prompted interest in alternative mucosa-protective approaches. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a novel multicomponent formulation (Tamacid-Pro®) in patients with reflux-like symptoms and negative endoscopy. Methods: In this prospective observational study, consecutive adult patients unde

Recurrence after healing in pyoderma gangrenosum: a prospective registry-based cohort study.

BACKGROUND: Pyoderma gangrenosum is a rare neutrophilic dermatosis with potential for relapse after healing, yet recurrence in real-world settings remains unknown. We aimed to evaluate recurrence patterns to inform clinical practice and future research. METHODS: Data were abstracted from a uniquely, prospectively maintained pyoderma gangrenosum registry. A cohort of patients with pyoderma gangrenosum seen between December 1st, 2019 and March 1st, 2026 who healed within this timeframe was identified. Two subgroups were then created: those who remained healed, and those who had a recurrence. De
