Hidrocystoma and basal cell carcinoma (BCC) are common eyelid lesions. The former is benign while the latter is malignant and can cause significant destruction of the adnexal structures, orbital invasion and visual loss. The authors describe a case of a 76-year-old female with a slow growing right upper lid lesion which was diagnosed as a hidrocystoma but excision biopsy revealed a collision tumour comprised of a BCC abutting a hidrocystoma in the same lesion. Cystic BCC can masquerade as hidrocystoma but there are no previous case reports of BCC coexisting with hidrocystoma in the same lesion

Damage to the thoracic sympathic chain is a rare complication of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) pleurectomy. We report our experience with a patient who underwent parietal pleurectomy and bullectomy by VATS and postoperatively suffered from palmar anhydrosis and compensatory controlateral hyperhidrosis. The possible mechanisms of nerve damage and various techniques of performing pleurectomy are discussed.

Clouston syndrome and eccrine syringofibroadenoma are uncommon disorders that have been reported together rarely and only before the discovery of the GJB6 gene for Clouston syndrome. This case reports eccrine syringofibroadenoma in a patient with genetically confirmed Clouston syndrome.

Myiasis is the infestation of human tissue by fly maggots. Although it is most often reported in tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world and in travelers returning from these areas, cases do occur in the United States. We report here a case of cutaneous myiasis observed in the setting of an eccrine adnexal neoplasm in an otherwise healthy host. Entomological analysis of the isolated organisms revealed additional information of interest.

Pigmented variant of malignant hidroacanthoma simplex (PMHS) is very rare. We are aware of only two reported cases, all arising in pigmented hidroacanthoma simplex (HS). We report the third case of PMHS arising in a pigmented HS. Mucinous metaplasia occurs uncommonly in cutaneous pathology, usually at specialized anatomic locations (genitalia, palms, and soles) and within restricted pathologic contexts (inflammation and trauma).
