Behçet's disease is a multisystemic vasculitis of unknown aetiology. Generally, it is characterized by recurrent aphthous stomatitis, recurrent genital ulcers, uveitis with hypopion. Recently some authors reported that patients with Behçet's disease show frequently audio-vestibular involvement. Behçet's syndrome represents a multisystemic disease with vasculitic changes. It manifests mainly with oral and genital ulceration, ocular involvement mostly uveitis and typical skin lesions. Further symptoms can develop: arthritis, gastrointestinal signs, thrombophlebitis and neurologic disturbances. The disease can start already in childhood and follows a chronic recurrent course. We conducted a longitudinal study of five patients with anterior and posterior acute toxoplasmic uveitis to determine the relationships, if any, between the level of toxoplasmic activity, therapy, and serum antibody titers to retinal proteins. A 20-year-old woman with sarcoidosis had uveitis, subacute symmetric sensorimotor neuropathy, and noncaseous granulomas in biopsies of gastrocnemius muscle and sural nerve. Morphologic studies of the nerve confirmed the electrodiagnostic impression of an acute axonal and demyelinating neuropathy.
