BACKGROUND: In preterm infants with severe retinopathy of prematurity, there is often a discrepancy between ophthalmic ultrasound findings and the ophthalmoscopic and/or intraoperative aspect of the eye.

We report the first described association of natal teeth with congenital hydrocephalus and congenital glaucoma, anterior segment dysgenesis with non-attachment of the retina. In this report we describe, herewith, a patient with primary pigmentary dystrophy of the retina (retinitis pigmentosa) associated with unilateral retinal arteriovenous communication and exudative retinal detachment. The patient had complete resolution of the retinal detachment following laser photocoagulation treatment. Such association has not been previously reported.

During routine ERG testing of a patient with Bardet-Biedl syndrome, we encountered an ERG anomaly not previously reported. A white flash which produced a response during light adaptation would produce no ERG when the retina was dark-adapted. Possible explanations for this phenomenon are discussed.
