We report 2 cases of primary malignant lymphoma arising in the urinary bladder. The first case was a 64-year-old woman complaining of gross hematuia during the follow-up period of transitional cell carcinoma (grade 2, stage pTa) of the bladder that was treated with TUR in 1989. A series of 69 cases of "large cell" non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas is reviewed. Based only on morphological criteria, eight groups of such lymphomas are described: four of them with a highly reproducible diagnosis and other four more difficult to compare with categories described by other authors. The importance of morphological classifications of malignant lymphomas is discussed.

We previously showed that ZDHHC11 promotes cell growth in Burkitt lymphoma (BL). To explore the underlying mechanism, we performed a genome-wide gene expression analysis upon ZDHHC11 knockdown. PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Richter syndrome (RS) is an uncommon but aggressive evolution of chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL). RS is an unmet clinical need in the field of CLL. Recent advances in understanding the biology of this condition provide the rationale for testing new therapeutic concepts in order to improve the outcome of patients developing RS, which is so far poor.
