OBJECTIVE: To study the efficacy of surgical treatment in the patients with left main stenosis of 50% or more.
METHODS: Forty-two patients with left main stenosis (LMS) underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Their mean age was 68.7 years. 16 patients had 50% to 75% LMS and 26 patients more than 75%. Twenty-nine patients had unstable angina. Seventeen patients with angina were in class III according to CCSS and 18 were in class IV. Preoperative left ventricular ejection fraction in 24 patients was beyond 50%.

MRI-based delineation of brain tissue removed by epilepsy surgery can be challenging due to post-operative brain shift. In consequence, most studies use manual approaches which are prohibitively time-consuming for large sample sizes, require expertise, and can be prone to errors. We propose RAMPS (Resections And Masks in Preoperative Space), an automated pipeline to generate a 3D resection mask of pre-operative tissue. Our pipeline leverages existing software including FreeSurfer, SynthStrip, Sythnseg and ANTs to generate a mask in the same space as the patient's pre-operative T1 weighted MRI.

OBJECTIVES: To review our experience of surgical repair of post-infarction ventricular septal defect (VSD).
METHODS: In the period 1983-2002, 50 patients underwent repair of VSD. Mean age was 66 years, male sex 52%. Infarct location was anterior in 60% and posterior in 40% of cases. Median interval between rupture and surgery was 2 days. Preoperative intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation was employed in 56%; a coronary angiogram was performed in 98% of cases. A patch repair technique was used in 90% of cases. Coronary bypass grafting was associated in 50% of patients.
