Anti-SS-A/Ro antibody (SS-A) and anti-SS-B/La antibody (SS-B) are important serologic markers in the diagnostic criteria for Primary Sjögren's syndrome (SS). Although anti-centromere antibody (ACA)-positive SS is frequently experienced, ACA is not included in these criteria. The purpose of this study was to identify the clinical features of ACA-positive SS and discuss the usefulness of ACA in diagnosing SS. We present a case of an optochiasmatic cavernous hemangioma (OCH) treated by stereotactic radiotherapy that required subsequent surgical resection. Subtotal resection and/or radiotherapy are not curative and can lead to hemorrhage and progressive neuronal insult. We recommend complete surgical resection as the treatment of choice.

A 4-year-old neutered male golden retriever was diagnosed with osseous blastomycosis of the distal left forelimb by means of radiographs and histopathology. Presumptive bacterial pneumonia and left forelimb lameness had been diagnosed 2 y previously, at which time bone scintigraphy revealed increased uptake in the distal left forelimb, but radiographs showed no detectable lesion. Though not specific, bone scintigraphy appears more sensitive than radiography in identifying early lesions of fungal osteomyelitis in dogs.

A 33-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of fever and arthralgia. Radiographic findings revealed bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy (BHL) and enlargement of lymph nodes of the mediastinum. Tissue from a mediastinum lymph node showed noncaseating granulomas. An acute form of sarcoidosis, Lofgren's syndrome, was diagnosed. Prednisolone was administered. Because this syndrome is rare in Japan, histopathological examination was necessary to diagnose and treat this patient.

We present a case report of a patient with a suspicious ileal carcinoid tumour. Clinical examination as well as computer tomography (CT) scan suggested a tumour. Octeotride scan showed uptake in the same bowel loop reported as pathological in CT. The patient underwent surgery and biopsy which reported Crohn's disease (CD).
