It was demonstrated by light and electron microscopical methods that Leydig cells also exist outside of the testis. In the spermatic cord and near the intraabdominal testicular vessels cells were observed with the characteristics of intratubular Leydig cells. A patient with a cerebro-hepato-renal syndrome was investigated. The visceral manifestations were those of the Zellweger syndrome (ZS); however, the child exhibited muscular hypertonia and survived into the 2nd year of life. Ultramicroscopically, hepatocytes were lacking peroxisomes, but, contrary to findings in one patient with ZS [2], contained smooth endoplasmic reticulum. We describe a typical case of prurigo nodularis, of 15 years' duration, in a middle-aged woman. Histological and electron microscopical examination of the skin lesions revealed distinct changes in the nerve tissue. There were groups of thickened nerve fibers that formed nodules with numerous Schwann cells. Some of the nerve bundles extended to the dermoepidermal junction.
