OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the effects of clarithromycin and ketoconazole on the pharmacokinetic properties of tacrolimus in different CYP3A4 genotype recombinant metabolic enzyme systems, so as to understand the drug interactions and their mechanisms further.

Follicular lymphoma (FL) is an uncurable cancer characterized by progressive severity of relapses. We analyzed sequence context specificity of mutations in the B cells from a large cohort of FL patients. The vitamin D receptor (VDR) mediates the effects of the calcemic hormone 1alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 [1,25(OH)2D3]. We show that VDR also functions as a receptor for the secondary bile acid lithocholic acid (LCA), which is hepatotoxic and a potential enteric carcinogen.
