Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) has been found to accelerate fracture healing. In this study, we analyzed the role of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in a rat spinal fusion model treated with LIPUS. The results revealed that LIPUS significantly increases bone formation, and the process was coupled with elevated CGRP innervation. CGRP was located in fibrous tissue, closely surrounding the allograft and newly formed cartilage. Oversensing of physiologic and non-physiologic electrical signals is a relevant cause of malfunctions in subjects with CIED. Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is commonly treated with total hip arthroplasty; however, the disadvantages of this form of treatment, especially in young patients, include the need for revision arthroplasty. The superficial peroneal nerve is vulnerable to damage from ankle sprain injuries and fractures as well as surgery to this region. And it is also one of the most commonly involved nerves in complex regional pain syndrome type II in the foot and ankle region. We report two cases of ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency treatment of superficial peroneal nerve for reduction of allodynia in CRPS patients.
