It has been observed protein carbonylation and glycation in the lens epithelial cell fractions of lenses in people with mature cataract. We used lenses of diabetic patients, weak and strong cigarette smokers and people who had senile cataract. The protein glycation is the highest in a diabetic senile cataract patients and the lowest in non-diabetic senile cataract patients. The protein carbonylation is extremely high in mitochondrial epithelial cells of the strong cigarette smokers. This study reports for the first time the occurrence of Ganoderma ellipsoideum, a wood-decaying fungus, in Vietnam. Species identification was achieved through morphological characterization and sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer region of nuclear ribosomal DNA. Noninvasive prenatal diagnosis relies on the analysis of the small amount of cell-free fetal DNA circulating in maternal plasma. Widely used to screen for chromosomal anomalies, the technique can also be applied to Mendelian diseases (NIPD-M). However, asserting the presence of a maternal variant in the fetus is challenging and requires the determination of the maternal haplotypes transmitted to the fetus. This is achieved via relative haplotype dosage (RHDO), a method that relies on the analysis of the allelic balance of multiple single-nucleotide polymorphisms around the pathogenic variant.

The aim of this study was to assess the biological potential of the polyphenolic fraction isolated from J. regia leaves, collected in the Subcarpathian region (Poland). This study evaluated the genotoxicity of Ethanol Extract (EEEp), Dichloromethane Fraction (FDCMEp) and isoeleutherin isolated from Eleutherine plicata, using the micronucleus test and the impact of structural alterations on toxicity and molecular docking (topoisomerase II and DNA complex). The extract was obtained by maceration and fractionation in a chromatography column. The genotoxicity was evaluated by the micronucleus test in human hepatoma cells (HepG2). Isoeleutherin was the starting molecule in the search for analogues by structural similarity, using the ZINC and e-Molecules databases.
