PURPOSE: Several studies indicated that -1607 1G/2G (rs1799750) polymorphism in matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) promoter was correlated with glaucoma susceptibility, but the results remain controversial. We performed a meta-analysis to assess whether rs1799750 confers glaucoma risk.
METHODS: Eligible studies were retrieved by systematically searching Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and Chinese Biomedical database. BACKGROUND: Acute haematogenous osteomyelitis is a bacterial infection of bone, which occurs most frequently in children. Outcomes are excellent for the majority of children, but a minority develop complicated osteomyelitis. Predicting which children will develop complicated osteomyelitis remains a challenge, particularly in developed countries where most patients are discharged home after a relatively short period in hospital.
