The diagnosis of appendicitis may be difficult to establish even for the experienced surgeon. Considerable variability in presenting symptoms and signs, resulting in part from the numerous locations in which the appendix may be found, contributes to diagnostic insecurity. Seven patients with progressive ileal or caecal carcinoid tumors and liver metastases were treated with human recombinant alpha-interferon ( … or abdominal pain. The side-effects were negligible with the exception of mild fever, headache and confusion only during the first days of therapy. The records of 16 consecutive patients with proven cryptococcosis, admitted to the two referral hospitals in Harare over a 15-year period, were reviewed. 15 were cases of meningitis, one with spinal cord granuloma, and the 16th was an orbital osteomyelitis. Details of three patients who developed allergic responses to aminophylline are presented, together with data on such reactions compiled from reports submitted to the Committee on Safety of Medicines. Interoception, the perception of internal bodily signals, plays a key role in health behavior. This study evaluated the reliability and validity of the Dutch Interoceptive Accuracy Scale (IAS-D) and Interoceptive Attention Scale (IATS-D) in 779 Dutch participants (mean age 52.98 ± 16.47, 49.6% female).
